International thrash’n’roll metal band Taipan released their debut album, “Straight From The Underground” on October 31st, 2015 and has already been hailed one of the top ten thrash albums of 2015, alongside giants like Nuclear and Battlecross. Taipan’s founders, Michael Black and Sergey Mordashov have now begun the process of selecting guests for their sophomore release, due to start recording in February, 2016. Although their debut album has only been available since Halloween, Taipan has also been nominated for metal album of the year by Metal Messiah Radio, a world-wide leader in underground metal airplay. The band was recently signed to Fono Records in Russia, also home to bands like Black Dahlia Murder and To Die For.
Taipan’s sophomore album will include three guests from the first CD. Tony Campos (Fear Factory, Soulfly, Prong, Ministry), Chris Poland (Megadeth, Ohm) and Alexander Strelnikov (Imperial Age) will be recording songs for the second album and will also be making select guest appearances to perform with Taipan in 2016.
Taipan’s second album will be a collaboration of some of the biggest and most respected names in metal, brought together by Michael Black and Sergey Mordashov, co-managers for Taipan and creators of the project. Taipan retains solid members like Drew Petropoulos, Zak Kupcha and Michael Black, but has chosen to record with many iconic bands in order to show respect to the Gods of metal. In essence, Taipan is a culmination of respect and dedication to all the amazing musicians that have inspired the band. Guests for Taipan’s second upcoming album include:
